Pino Procopio, born Giuseppe Antonio Procopio (Guardavalle, June 16, 1954), is an Italian painter, sculptor and illustrator representing figurativism. Art studies started in Catanzaro, but ultimated in Rome, in 1982 he graduated in architecture at La Sapienza University in Rome. In 1980, the art center “La Bitta” exposes its first personal. After two years in Verona, in 1985 he settled in Giulianova, Abruzzo. In 2001, the “Fondazione Italiana Stauròs Onlus” invited him to exhibit at the Stauros Museum of Contemporary Sacred Art at San Gabriele. The work “Father, in your hands I convey my spirit” is now a permanent piece of the museum’s collection. The following year, in 2002, he painted the poster for the “World Book Day and Copyright Law”, sponsored by UNESCO. State Monopolies commission him in 2003 to make the painting on the European Lottery Ticket and in 2004 he was commissioned to make the painting that will be placed on the Ticket of Italian Lottery. In 2005, the Ministry of Communications promoted in Rome an his personal exhibition showing the evolution of Italian postal service in 100 years of history. In 2007 the Pescara Committee of the “Dante Alighieri Society” awarded him the “Dante Alighieri 2007” prize in the Arte section. The year after, in 2008, in Rome, the Boncompagni-Ludovisi Museum of the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art set up his personal exhibition “Ulysses,a travel scenes”.
